- Rotten wood — decayed exterior timber repaired or treated before painting, so the finish has something sound to hold to.
How we approach it
Outside work has to stand up to the weather, so preparation matters even more. We don't paint over problems; we put them right first, then apply coatings that protect the building and look the part.
We assess the condition of the building first and tell you honestly what it needs. Surfaces are properly prepared — cleaned, filled, repaired and primed — before any topcoat. We work tidily, protect the areas around the work, and plan around the weather so the finish goes on right.
The right time of year
Exterior decorating is best done in dry, milder conditions. If timing matters for your project, we'll talk it through when we quote.
Rotten wood treatment
We repair or treat decayed timber before painting. A painted-over problem is just a problem with a coat of paint on it.
